lyrics

No one is smarter than Fox and the Otter
They’re searching for the water to be blessed by the Father
They failed their mothers and they feared their brothers
Followed by buzzards they still had each other

And a whole lot of suffering

No one can flatter like the Pharaoh and his laughter
The slave and the master the hero and the captor
They have all the answers but greed gets a faster
And a slim sullen pastor screams, “You rotten bastards!”

And southern belles and Baptists sing
A feather for our offering
A funeral for your medication
And some hope for your suffering

No one can cackle quite like the jackal
The handsome vandal he ransacked the castle
He fled the kingdom crawled onto the sinking ship
He prayed for ninety days until he burned his lips

And the choir sang
“It’s about time you changed”
“You live in fear of mercy!”
And relief from your suffering

No one can whisper like Fox to his sister
“You heathen barista, you’re just a waitress”
Otter starts defending her “Remember she’s not saved”
She gathered up her muddy dress and headed for the caves

Where concubines and playboys moan
Into polluted microphones
A penny for your medicine
And some pity for your suffering
